When I heard of the Sweet Pea cocktail I really had to think a bit before I decided to try it. I mean really, peas? In a cocktail? Well, I’m so glad I tried it! I found the original recipe at the Bon Appetit blog. I changed a few things to make it more my taste. I tested it out on friends who enjoyed it… so, I feel pretty safe in saying that this is a great cocktail for Spring or Summer.
Friday night I was up very late working on getting the house cleaned and all the party crafts finished for the party I was hosting on Saturday. Before heading to bed I thought about how similar my situation must be to all the lovely people out there that enjoy parties as much as I do. There is certainly a bit of a love hate relationship with all the prep and projects. Sometimes there is a sense of dread and pride all wrapped up into one confusing ball as well. I thought about posting some thoughts about the night before a party. Then, suddenly the poem, “Twas the Night Before Christmas” popped into my head. I couldn’t shake it. So, out came a poem title “Twas the Night Before a Party.” I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it! I’d love to know what you think and what YOU go through on the night before a party!
This past week the hubby and I had the awesome opportunity to go check out Whole Foods’ Top Ten Wines and Ten & Friends Beer. Last Thursday, our anniversary, we joined in for the wine twitter party with four other social media mavens at the Pearl Whole Foods location for a complimentary wine and cheese tasting. Then, on Saturday, we visited the Bridgeport Whole Foods location to do a complimentary beer and BBQ tasting. Both were awesome. But, the thing I took home from both events was a list of some really awesome wines and beers for affordable prices. I had to share with anyone out there that need a good recommendation!
